Bungie is Asking for Player Feedback for Destiny Iron Banner Event

While Destiny’s Iron Banner event is just a few days old, it seems the PvP mode isn’t working out as intended. In case you didn’t know, the Iron Banner mode is set so that players with better gear should have an advantage.

In the video above, it shows an Iron Banner match where a level four player, using the weapon you first find in the game, to mow down players with better gear. It’s expected that in the Iron Banner, players with lower tier gear should have a harder time downing those with Legendary and Exotic equipment.

Now, over on Bungie’s official forums, the developer is seeking player feedback on whether gear advantages are working.

Seeking constructive feedback.

Tell me about your experience. Please stay on topic.

Were you detecting an advantage attributed to your more powerful gear and weapons? Did the experience feel different than standard Crucible combat?

Talk to me, Guardians.

UPDATE: I know people quit games when they know they won’t win. I’m more curious about your perceptions for how the power-level advantages work. Help me help you. Stay on target!

This is a bigger issue compared to the normal Crucible modes since players can only earn Iron Banner reputation if their team wins; and with the mode not penalizing those who quit, some players who know their team won’t be able to overcome the score deficit, is doing just that midway through matches.

Have you noticed any gear advantages in the Iron Banner? Should Bungie tweak this or leave it as is so low level players have a fighting chance?
