Mighty No. 9 to Feature English Voice Acting Following Vote

Comcept’s Mighty No. 9 will feature English voice acting, thanks to a voting process that attracted more than 20,000 participants. According to the game’s Kickstarter page:

We’ve been seeing great discussions all over our forums, twitter feed and Facebook for the past week, all focused on a single burning question: English or Japanese? Which language will all the voice acting be in for Mighty No. 9?!

The response has been amazing: over 20,000 of you weighed in with your choice over the last few days, and now we’re finally back with your decision:

Mighty No. 9 will include English voice acting!

Comcept originally wanted to support both English and Japanese languages, and adjusted its funding targets to $200,000. However, in October, the developer announced that this amount was insufficient for both languages. Instead of increasing the amount, Comcept lowered its funding goal back to $100,000 and left the fans to decide which language the game would include. A majority voted for English, but Comcept was quick to clarify that the results of the vote were pretty close.

You might be thinking “Well DUH! Of course it’s English — the largest majority of Mighty No. 9 backers speak English!” And sure, you’d be right, but you’d be surprised how close the vote was — less than 1,000 votes separated the two choices, from the start right down to the end!

So, English it is, then! Mighty No. 9 is scheduled for release in 2015.
