The Walking Dead PS4 & Xbox One Versions Delayed in Europe

Originally expected to release this Friday, Telltale Games revealed today that The Walking Dead Season 1 and The Walking Dead Season 2 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One won’t launch until October 31 in Europe through retail and digital stores. As for Season 2’s status on other systems, Telltale said, “Retail editions will also be available for the first time on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3,” meaning they’ll likely be available on October 31 as well.

Telltale didn’t offer up a reason for the delay in Europe.

With The Walking Dead Season 2 available today in North America, Telltale Games President Kevin Bruner talked about the series:

Since the series premiere in 2012, the team has been incredibly proud to continue breaking new ground in the art of interactive drama as part of Robert Kirkman’s award-winning universe. Now available on over six thousand devices from console to mobile, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 formats usher in an even greater reach for Telltale, and we’re excited to be preparing players across the world for a thrilling third season that’s yet to come.

Overall, The Walking Dead series by Telltale games has sold over 39 million episodes worldwide.

No date was given for The Walking Dead Season 2 at retail in Europe, but it will come to North America on November 4.
