Rainbow Skies Gameplay Trailer Debuts, PS4 Version Still Undecided

After a long layoff between new information EastAsiaSoft debuted the above gameplay trailer for Rainbow Skies, which is set to release in 2015 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

An “indirect” sequel to Rainbow Moon, Rainbow Skies tells the story of Damion, Layne, and Ashly, who meet after getting caught up in the crossfire of two rival superpowers. Building upon Moon, Skies will feature new gameplay elements, such as monster taming and combining skill attacks, as well as the ability to control up to 6 ally units on the battlefield.

Calling the gameplay and structure the series is known for “our highest priority,” Skies contains “more than 10 times the amount of world and dungeon content compared to Rainbow Moon.”

Answering some questions about the game, SideQuest Studios CEO Marcus Pukropski said, “In case we’re porting the game to PS4, which is something that hasn’t been decided so far, it will be released much later, so this article is mainly about the PS3 and PS Vita version. If we decide to do a PS4 port we’ll keep you up to date so please visit out game sites regularly.”

As well, Marcus said pricing will be similar to Rainbow Moon, and while there won’t be co-op, “it will have an upload feature so you can compare your game progress with friends.”

If you’re unfamiliar with the Rainbow games, Rainbow Moon is available for free as part of the October 2014 PlayStation Plus Free Games.
