Next Mass Effect Game Being Written by Halo 4’s Lead Writer

BioWare has introduced some of its development team leads for the upcoming Mass Effect title. The new game is being written by Chris Schlerf, the lead writer of 343 Industries’ Halo 4. Additionally, the lead writer for Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3, Mac Walters, will stay on board as Creative Director.

Schlerf joined the development team following the departure of the series’ creator and Executive Producer, Casey Hudson, back in August. Schlerf said:

As a writer, I write for characters. To me, it’s always about what makes my characters tick and what stories I can tell through those characters that will actually engage people about their own lives. It provides a mirror to that player’s experience [so that they are] not just sitting back in an armchair.

BioWare also unveiled some concept art and further information regarding the next Mass Effect game during the Mass Effect N7 Roundtable event. You can read more on that here.
