DriveClub Update on Tuesday Adds Photo Mode, Free DLC Packs Coming to Full Game Owners

After two weeks of silence about DriveClub’s status, Evolution Studios announced today that a new update is coming next week, free DLC will be given to owners of the game, the Season Pass is being extended, and the PlayStation Plus Edition is still being worked on.

First up, as a thank you for being “extremely patient” during the frustrating launch, the premium DLC packs for November (out on the 25th in North America, 26th in Europe, 27th in Japan) are going to be free to those who purchased the full game:

These premium DLC packs – The Ignition Expansion Pack and Photo-Finish Tour Pack along with two livery packs – will give you a total of five new cars, 22 new tour events, 10 new trophies and 10 new livery items to play with online and offline.

With this free DLC offer, the DriveClub Season Pass is being extended an extra month to July 2015, offering up four extra packs in the process. This is to ensure “players who purchased the pass get everything that was promised.” So, in all, the Season Pass will still include 38 cars, 176 tour events, and 80 unique liveries.

As for that update, it will be available on Tuesday and adds everything you see below:

General

  • Photo Mode
  • Improved multiplayer collision physics to reduce frustrating spin-outs
  • Adjustments to soften the corner cutting penalty system
  • Options in the club menu to view everything your club has unlocked
  • A fix to allow all club owners to update their club badges

Free Tracks For Offline & Online Play (Also Playable in Reverse)

  • India – Yedepalli
  • Scotland – Wester Ross
  • Chile – Los Pelambres

Despite all this good news, the PlayStation Plus Edition is still undated, though they are making progress on making it available:

Although currently we do not have an update regarding the timing for the launch of the PS Plus Edition, we are continually working on improving the server capacity to enable us to launch the PS Plus Edition as quickly as possible.
