Rockstar Investigating GTA Online Character Transfer & Log-In Issues For Older Accounts (Update 3)

Update 3:

Everything should be working fine now, with Rockstar saying:

At this time, PlayStation 4 users should no longer have issues downloading the patch. All character migrations are now working on PlayStation 4, and affected PlayStation 3 users can play GTA Online as normal. This issue will be addressed for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users by tomorrow.

Update 2:

Rockstar revealed that Sony increased the number of PS4 servers the update can be downloaded from:

Sony have increased the number of servers that the PlayStation 4 patch can be download from to reduce errors and make the patch more accessible. Please try the patch download again; if you still see an error, close GTAV completely and try to install the patch.

Update:

Rockstar updated their website to say that a patch on PS4 and PS3 is being rolled out:

We are currently addressing this issue with a patch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 users. This patch is available for download, but may not be available in your region for the next few hours. If you attempt to download the patch and see a “CE-32937-4” error, please attempt to download the patch again later today. This issue will be addressed for Xbox One and Xbox 360 users by tomorrow. Affected PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players can still log in to Grand Theft Auto Online  but will not be able to transfer characters until the fix is in place.

Original Story:

When Grand Theft Auto V launched earlier today on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, many people tried to take advantage of the Grand Theft Auto Online character and progression transfer, only to find out that it wasn’t working for them.

As it turns out, there appears to be an issue with accounts that haven’t been used since 2013, with Rockstar saying they are investigating:

Question: I haven’t played GTA Online since 2013. When I try to transfer to PS4 or Xbox One, it says “No previous Grand theft Auto Online data is associated with your Social Club account.” I then tried to go back and play GTA Online on PS3 or Xbox 360 to verify, but it says the Rockstar services are unavailable. Help!

[Rockstar Support Answer]: We are looking into an issue preventing character transfer and GTA Online login on accounts that haven’t played GTA Online since 2013.

In addition, Rockstar has received reports of the Flapper Bob hairstyle showing as an incorrect color after the PS3/360 transfer to PS4/Xbox One. At this moment, Rockstar is “currently looking into a fix.”

Meanwhile, if hair is incorrectly appearing as Close Shave in the Character Creator when migrating your PS3/360 character to PS4/Xbox One, Rockstar offered this solution:

We have received reports of issues with hair on migrated characters and are currently looking into a fix.

This can be resolved while editing your character’s appearance, which is allowed the first time you play on a transferred character. If you change your hairstyle from “Current” to any other style and then back to “Current”, your previously-selected hairstyle should appear.

Finally, if you transfer your character to PS4/Xbox One and they’re wearing a flight suit, Rockstar says to follow these steps to remove it:

While still in the character editor, you can temporarily remove the Flight Suit by going to Apparel->Hat, and switching the option to anything other than “Current.” When you are finished editing, you can toggle the Hat back to “Current” to put the helmet back on.

Have you experienced any issues with GTAV on PS4 yet?
