Ubisoft on The Crew: We Have Confidence in the Stability and Performance at Launch

Finishing up its final beta test this week, Ubisoft’s The Crew officially releases on December 2 in North America and Europe for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

With Ubisoft offering DLC to everyone as an apology for all of the issues with Assassin’s Creed Unity since launch, people may be worried how the launch of The Crew, which requires an internet connection, might go. To find out, The Metropolist reached out to Lead Game Designer Serkan Hasan, who said they have “confidence in the stability of the game and its performance,” and the development team has what it takes to make it a successful launch.

Part of his reasoning for being confident in The Crew at launch is the multiple beta tests, which were “designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time.”

While Hasan admits “any online games these days has potential issues,” he hopes the betas “proved our credentials and the game’s stability.”

In terms of specs, Hasan says to expect 1080p/30fps on PS4 and Xbox One at launch.

The Crew servers will go live on December 1, with reviews for the game not expected to go up until after launch on December 2.
