The Evil Within Update Out on PS4, “No Plans” to Remove Letterbox on Consoles

Weighing in at about 1GB, the latest update for The Evil Within on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One went live last night, and it includes only “minor bug fixes and optimizations.” When asked for more details, the developers just repeated, “The 1GB update has general optimizations and bug fixes.”

Back in October, an update to The Evil Within on PC was released to disable the letterbox bars. Asked about whether or not this update maybe did the same, The Evil Within Twitter account said no, adding that there’s no plans to add the function on consoles:

This [update] has no impact on the letterbox presentation of the game. There are no plans for changing that on consoles.

As for the upcoming DLC and when we might see it, the Twitter account simply said, “We’ll share more details on [a release date] as soon as we can.”

Are you disappointed to hear that the letterbox presentation is here to stay?
