With no new releases to speak of, Grand Theft Auto V was able to steal first place away from Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, despite a 51% drop in sales. Including this victory, GTAV has actually only been #1 five times since launch, but it is the fastest-selling game of all-time in the UK and the best-selling game of all-time in the UK.

It was a fairly straightforward week for the rest of the top 20, with Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag’s move from 27th to 11th – thanks to the Assassin’s Creed Xbox One bundle getting a sales spike – being the only notable change.

Here’s the top 20 selling retail games in the UK for the week ending January 10, 2015, according to GfK Chart-track:

  1. Grand Theft Auto V (down 51%)
  2. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (down 61%)
  3. FIFA 15 (down 51%)
  4. Far Cry 4
  5. The Crew
  6. Assassin’s Creed Unity
  7. Minecraft: PlayStation Edition
  8. Minecraft: Xbox Edition
  9. Destiny
  10. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor
  11. Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag (down 3%)
  12. DriveClub
  13. LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham
  14. The Evil Within
  15. Forza Horizon 2
  16. Halo: The Master Chief Collection
  17. WWE 2K15
  18. Super Smash Bros
  19. Dragon Age Inquisition
  20. Assassin’s Creed Rogue

With another light week of releases ahead, we may not receive our first new release #1 of 2015 until Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell/Re-Elected on January 23.
