Staying quiet about it for quite a few months now, The Last of Us Writer and Creative Director Neil Druckmann was interviewed by Game Informer recently, where he was asked about The Last of Us movie, which he is also writing.

In terms of status, he says it’s coming along “really well,” adding, “We just finished the second draft, and we did a table read with a bunch of actors, and that’s where we’re at.”

Asked if it stays faithful to the game, Druckmann replied, “There’s some big changes, but the tone and what the story’s trying to say is pretty faithful to the game.”

Although he isn’t writing the Uncharted movie, Druckmann is writing Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. “When I’m in the office, it’s all Uncharted 4 all the time,” he explained. “When I should be sleeping, it’s [The Last of Us] movie.”

It’s still early for The Last of Us movie, with casting, a release date, and more still to be determined.
