Borderlands 2 Lead Writer Leaves Gearbox Software

As work on the next Borderlands game commences, Borderlands 2 lead writer Anthony Burch has announced his departure from Gearbox Software to pursue other opportunities. Burch made the announcement on his Twitter profile, stating that he is moving to LA to be head writer on a new Hulu series. The comedy series is being produced by Video Game High School studio RocketJump.

Formerly a Destructoid staff member, Burch worked on Borderlands 2 as well as Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. While he did say that he was excited to work on the new project, Burch subsequently tweeted:

Also there’s a not insignificant chance I’ll fall on my face and be back at Gearbox in six months sooo don’t be surprised if that happens.

Meanwhile, Gearbox is looking for a writer, but we’re not sure if that has anything to do with Burch’s departure.
