Kojima Productions: “We Did Not Tease a New Game at the Taipei Game Show”

After a teaser image of what appeared to be Metal Gear Rising 2 was included inside a PlayStation 4 sizzle reel trailer at the Taipei Game Show 2015 (skip to 1:39 of the video), Kojima Productions has come out to say this had nothing to do with them or the Metal Gear franchise:

We’d like to say thank you to the fans for their enthusiasm but to clarify we did not tease a new game at the Taipei Game Show.

The trailer screencap in question is from SCE [Sony Computer Entertainment] and not affiliated with Kojima Productions or Metal Gear.

We however were proud to announce Chinese language support in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain! Look forward to its release 2015.

Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve been trolled by announcements regarding the Metal Gear franchise, so don’t lose all hope about a Metal Gear Rising 2 quite yet.

Do you think the possible Metal Gear Rising 2 tease was real or fake?
