During the conference call following the announcement of their Q3 2015 financials, Take-Two confirmed that Gearbox is developing a new Borderlands game “built specifically for next-gen” consoles and PC. Details were kept at a minimum, with not even a release window given, but it’s very likely we won’t see the next Borderlands until after Battleborn launches in Fiscal Year 2016.

This news shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise, with Gearbox President Randy Pitchford saying just last month that “they’re ready to start” working on a new Borderlands. Oddly though, he did mention at the time that “we’re not working on a new Borderlands game, but we want to.”

You’ll be able to play some Borderlands on your PlayStation 4 very soon, with the Handsome Collection out on March 24.
