Resident Evil HD Remaster is the Biggest Selling Day One Digital Title Ever on PlayStation Store

Already having claimed top spot on PlayStation 4 in the North American and European PlayStation Stores during January 2015, Capcom announced today that the Resident Evil HD remaster is their fastest selling digital in history across those two territories. Not only that, but the game also broke the record for biggest selling day one digital title on the PlayStation Network, surpassing other titles like Destiny.

Resident Evil Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi issued a thank you from Capcom Japan:

It’s been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have enjoyed this new release. The team here at Capcom Japan have worked hard to bring the game to the latest generation of consoles and we are thrilled at this news on its performance.

If you’re interested in other Resident Evil titles, a sale is still happening on the North American PlayStation Store through today.

Next up for Resident Evil is Revelations 2, which starts its release schedule this month. Then, if a leak is to be believed, we’ll eventually receive a remastered version of Resident Evil Zero.
