Activision Blizzard Named by Fortune as One of the Best Companies to Work for in 2015

While some people might see titan video game publisher Activision as one that milks all their franchises dry and forces its studios to make endless Call of Duty games, it seems it’s work environment is one of the world’s best.

In a press release, the publisher announced that it made Fortune’s “100 Best Companies to Work For” list in 2015, which marks the publisher’s first-ever inclusion into the list.

The results of the “Great Place to Work” Trust Index survey states that Activision Blizzard ranked highly with its own employees in the great pride, great credibility and great camaraderie categories.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick had this to say regarding the company’s placement on the list:

We have always considered Activision Blizzard to be one of the greatest places to work…To be recognized for it by others is gratifying and rewarding but being acknowledged as a great place to work by our own people means more to me than just about anything. They are the reason we are being recognized today.

In our early days, we were selling the office furniture just to make payroll. Today, we’re one of the largest and most successful entertainment companies in the world – and that’s entirely due to the exceptionally talented, inspired, driven, and hard-working people at Activision Blizzard. I couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.

Is this surprising to you? Or should this be expected given how much money Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Skyanders and the rest of Activision’s gaming properties rake in?
