In anticipation of its release later today in North America (Europe will hopefully get it tomorrow), Sony has published a gameplay trailer showing off the 2D run-and-gun action in Metal Slug 3.

Featuring cross-buy on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita, Metal Slug 3 costs $14.99, with PlayStation Plus members able to pick it up for $13.49 during launch week.

As Adam Laatz, Director of Business Development at SNK Playmore, said:

Together with Code Mystics and SCEA Third Party Productions, not only did we want to bring a high-quality version of the original NEOGEO game with added Trophy support and online multiplayer, this download version of Metal Slug 3 also includes convenient cross-save functionality, and a cross-play feature allowing players to enjoy co-op gameplay on any of these three PlayStation platforms.

Unlike previous titles in the Spring Fever promotion, Metal Slug 3 won’t feature a Platinum Trophy. Instead, you’ll find 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 11 Bronze, with one Trophy unlocking just by starting the first mission.

Up next in Spring Fever is Axiom Verge, which comes to the PlayStation 4 on March 31 in North America for $17.99 (PS+)/$19.99.
