Spotify App Out Today for PS4, PS3 on PlayStation Music

After announcing it this past January, Sony confirmed today that the Spotify app for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 is rolling out today on PlayStation Music in 41 markets around the world.

Featuring more than 30 million songs and 1.5 billions playlists, the Spotify app on PS4 allows you to soundtrack your games with your favorite songs. Additionally, to make controlling the music easier, you can use the Spotify Connect feature on the Spotify app for iOS/Android to select a playlist, skip songs, adjust the volume, and more.

You can link your PlayStation Network account to Spotify and subscribe to the Premium service for $9.99/£9.99 per month. Otherwise, there’s a couple options to test it out for free:

  • Music Unlimited subscribers with accounts active as of March 29, 2015, can receive 2 months of free access to Spotify Premium
  • New and existing Spotify users who have not previously received a trial of Spotify Premium can receive one month free

As Sony Entertainment Network VP Eric Lempel adds, “This is just the beginning of Spotify on PlayStation Music, which will continue to evolve. We are working with the team at Spotify to bring new and exciting features exclusively to our platforms.”

A list of counties currently confirmed for the Spotify app includes Andorra, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Netherlands, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, UK and USA.
