Bungie Trademarks “The Taken King,” Appears to Be the Name of Destiny’s September DLC

Bungie recently trademarked something under such categories of “downloadable video games, video game software,” and has provided an interesting logo to go with the trademark.

The logo, which can be seen below, provides the name “The Taken King” and has a V-shaped image underneath. Attorney Jim Chame, who was responsible for filing the trademarks for The Dark Below and House of Wolves, two previous Destiny expansions, also filed the trademark for The Taken King.

It would appear, then, that The Taken King is the September Destiny DLC that was originally called Comet: Plague of Darkness, or at least that is what a leaked image indicated it was called. Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, as Bungie or Activision have not yet made any comments on the trademark.

While The Taken King is assumedly still several months away, House of Wolves will be available to download on in a few short weeks on May 19. What do you think of the new trademark?
