Ubisoft CEO Hints at Public Alpha and Beta Tests for The Division, Game Officially Delayed Until Early 2016

The Division’s release date has officially been moved to early 2016, but it looks like there might be some chances to play it before that.

In a recent earnings call, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot hinted that the upcoming game may have some public alpha and beta tests. During the call, he explained that The Division is “an RPG online game. Those games take more time to be completed and we want to make sure we have enough feedback from consumers from alpha and betas to polish it as much as possible before the launch so that it comes to the market with the best experience possible.”

While Ubisoft currently has not confirmed any alpha or beta test plans, Guillemot’s comments do sound promising. At the same time, some code found in the game’s official website seem to point towards an alpha test at some point, although again, that has not been confirmed.

The Division is set to come out sometimes between January 1 and March 31, 2016. Are you hoping for a public alpha or beta test?
