The Elder Scrolls Online on PS4 & Xbox One Doesn’t Require an Activation Code, Can Be Traded in

Yesterday in The Elder Scrolls Online forums, Zenimax Studios said the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited would require “a unique game registration code in order to play the game, and used copies will not be eligible to receive a key if the code has already been redeemed.”

As it turns out, this posting was incorrect.

In a new statement sent out today, Bethesda confirmed that you don’t actually need an activation key:

The physical console version of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited does not require a one-time game code. As with any other boxed PS4 / Xbox One game only the game disc is needed for verification.

Additionally, you will be able to trade-in your copy of Tamriel Unlimited on PS4 or Xbox One.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited comes to PS4 and Xbox One on June 9, with no subscription fee.
