It looks like Mark Cerny, the lead system architect for the PlayStation 4, has taken over development of Team ICO’s long awaited game, The Last Guardian.

During a recent PS Nation podcast episode, Just Add Water founder Stewart Gilray hinted that Cerny’s “team is now running Last Guardian to finish.” While he did not reference Cerny by name, he did mention the person heading the game’s development is “the guy who helped out with the architecture of the Vita and PS4.”

I did hear a funny story about Last Guardian. It’s a certain somebody’s software team [working on it], and that certain somebody is the guy who helped out with the architecture of the Vita and PS4. I’m led to believe that he’s — his team is now running Last Guardian to finish.

While this has not been confirmed by either Sony Computer Entertainment or Team ICO, hopefully more information will be given out at E3 2015, as The Last Guardian is reportedly supposed to be featured there.
