Not only has Konami released a new E3 2015 teaser trailer for PES 2016, but it has also announced that Brazilian soccer player Neymar Jr. is to be the lead cover star of the upcoming sports game.

The trailer, which apparently is a sort of shortened version of their upcoming E3 trailer, showcases the graphical capabilities of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, showing off highly detailed players, fans, and stadiums. The full trailer is set to be revealed on June 12 at E3.

A Konami press release also mentioned that Neymar Jr. is to be the cover star for the upcoming game. Neymar “is a player that perfectly fits the PES brand,”said Erik Bladinieres, European Brand Director of Football, in the release. Neymar also provided a statement, saying that “this is a real honour for me to be cover star for PES 2016.”

This is a real honour for me to be cover star for PES 2016. The series has long been praised for its sheer level of control and utter realism and I am delighted to be working with such a talented team as Konami. I am fascinated by the huge amount of work involved in putting together the game and ensuring the world’s top players look and play just like the real things, and cannot wait to see myself in action as soon as possible.

PES 16 is due out sometime this year for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. What do you think of its new trailer? And what do you think of Neymar Jr. being the game’s cover star?
