Arc System Works Buys Rights to Double Dragon and Other Technos Japan Games

Arc System Works, the studio behind the BlazBlue and the Guilty Gear games, has just bought up the rights to all the brands and franchises that were formerly owned by Technos Japan.

That mean the video game studio now owns the property rights to Super Dodge Ball, River City Ransom, and other titles, the most important one probably being Double Dragon. The last new Double Dragon game to come out was Double Dragon Neon, which came out back in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, not hitting PC until 2014.

Given Arc’s experience with creating fighting games, do you think they will be able to revive the Double Dragon franchise? Currently, there is no news about any upcoming reboots, but we’ll keep an eye out.
