Paid Witcher 3 DLC Will Be “Almost the Size of The Witcher 2,” Says Director

Even though The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has been releasing free DLC over the last few weeks, with fans getting a large update this week instead of free DLC, the RPG’s two massive paid pieces of DLC have yet to come out. However, when they do finally release, they will be “almost the size of The Witcher 2.”

In an interview with Gamereactor, Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz mentioned that the game’s first expansion “will be around 10 hours,” while the second expansion “will be around 20 hours,” although he said they could be bigger. He also explained that “if you sum up this 10 to 20 hours and you compare it to The Witcher 2, it’s almost the size of The Witcher 2.”

The first expansion will be around 10 hours and the second expansion will be around 20 hours… and I think it’s possible that they will be bigger, because it’s always like this (that when we plan some time or hours, it’s twice or something like this), but I’m not promising anything right now. And even now, if you sum up this 10 to 20 hours and you compare it to The Witcher 2, it’s almost the size of The Witcher 2. And it will be cool, it will be new stories, it will be very emotional stories and I think that people will be happy.

That’s a whole lot of content. The first piece of The Witcher 3 DLC, Hearts of Stone, will come out sometime in the fall of this year, and the other bit of DLC, Blood and Wine, will release in 2016.
