We reported a little while ago that Shenmue 3 surpassed Koji Igarashi’s Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night to become the most funded video game on Kickstarter. We can now confirm that the game’s campaign has ended with a total of $6,333,295 pledged by 69,320 backers! Funding is set to continue via PayPal and we’ll hear more details on that soon.

Although Shenmue 3 couldn’t raise the $10 million required for the “open world” that Yu Suzuki was hoping to create, the funding received thus far is still quite a feat, especially since the Kickstarter campaign became a little stagnant at one point in time. And as Suzuki previously mentioned, he’ll manage whatever he can within the available budget anyway.

Congratulations to Suzuki and Ys Net!
