PS4 Update 2.57 Now out, Is Optional

Just a few weeks after 2.55, Sony has released PlayStation 4 firmware update 2.57 today, which is a completely optional 245MB download.

As you can see from the singular patch note, this is another stability update:

  • System software stability during use of some features has been improved.

Since this is an optional update, here’s the steps to follow if you want to download 2.57:

From the function screen, select (Settings) > [System Software Update]. Your system automatically checks over the Internet whether you have the latest version of the system software. If there is an update file for a later version, it is downloaded to the system. When downloading is complete, a notification message is displayed in the upper left corner of the screen. On the function screen, select (Notifications) > [Downloads], and then follow the screens to perform the installation.

If you need to download the update to a USB stick, head over to the US or UK PlayStation sites for more information.

Did you notice any changes with update 2.57 other than some stability?
