During its quarterly earnings call. publisher EA has confirmed and revealed that a new Battlefield game will ship in 2016.
Here’s what EA CFO Blake Jorgensen said when asked about the future of EA’s core titles.
What we have said is that our intention over the next couple of years is to have a first-person shooter as one of the core titles…This year, obviously, it’s Star Wars Battlefront. Next year, it’s another Battlefield title.
This news really shouldn’t be that surprising given EA has released a big shooter every October for the past few years, and EA CEO Andrew Wilson kind of confirmed the same date in 2014. The big question here is: will it be Battlefield 5, Bad Company 3 or a new Battlefield spin-off? like Battlefield Hardline? Also, who’s going developing it?
