PlayStation Plus Vote to Play Feature on PS4 Confirmed by Sony

While they didn’t give us any details on when it actually begins or what games we’ll be able to choose from, Sony confirmed that the Vote to Play feature is indeed happening, allowing PlayStation Plus members to “vote on one of several PlayStation 4 games for the upcoming month’s Instant Game Collection.”

Announced for both North America and Europe, Vote to Play comes as a result of user feedback, with John Koller, Sony Computer Entertainment America VP of Platforms Marketing, explaining:

The game with the most votes will automatically be included in our future free game lineup for PlayStation Plus. If your pick didn’t make the lineup, don’t worry. In the first promotion, PlayStation Plus members can get the runner ups at a discount. We love to listen to our fans – and we’re super excited to launch this promotion.

We’ll learn about Vote to Play (when voting begins, the titles you can choose from, and how to cast your vote) soon.

However, as Sony notes on the EU PS Blog, “Vote to Play will not be a monthly feature, but will take place at regular intervals throughout the year.”

If a previous leak is to be believed, the September 2015 choices will be Armello, Grow Home, and Zombie Vikings.

Going live next week, here’s the August 2015 PlayStation Plus free games.
