Patrick Kane Removed From NHL 16 Cover Amid Ongoing Investigation

In response to the ongoing investigation involving Chicago Blackhawks Patrick Kane, EA Sports announced today that they’ve removed him from the cover of NHL 16:

In light of the ongoing investigation involving Patrick Kane, he will no longer be a spokesperson for the launch of EA Sports NHL 16.

He will not appear on the EA Sports NHL 16 cover nor participate in other EA Sports NHL 16 promotional activities.

Here’s the new NHL 16 cover, which will just have teammate Jonathan Toews, making him the only player to appear twice on an NHL cover:

NHL 16 releases on September 15 in North America and September 17 in Europe for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On the same day, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will receive an NHL Legacy Edition that “brings together the most popular modes and award-winning gameplay features from nine years of NHL hockey.”
