It’s no secret that games get pirated all time, but the sheer amount of money lost by game developers and game publishers for all of those pirated titles is staggering.

Thanks to data compiled by Arxan Technologies, it has been revealed that in 2014, “the unmonetized value of pirated games reached $74,000,000,000.” Not only that, but it is expected that by the end of 2015, the amount of assets pirated in that year will reach 1.96 million. Assets include games, software, and digital media.

A number of graphs have been drawn up by Arxan that illustrate just how big of an issue pirating actually is, and those graphs can be seen below:

Arxan Technologies is a cybersecurity company that works to protect software and applications from hackers and scammers. What do you think about the amount of assets that will be pirated this year? To check out the full report where this data came from, go to the Arxan website here.
