Grand Theft Auto Online Is Offline for Maintenance Over the Next Seven Hours

Affecting PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC owners of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar is taking Grand Theft Auto Online offline due to some scheduled maintenance, which is expected to last for seven hours.

Beginning at 8pm PT/11pm ET, here’s what they say about the maintenance:

We will be performing scheduled online service maintenance this Monday, August 17 starting at 11:00 PM ET and lasting for approximately 7 hours. The Social Club website and certain online features across most Rockstar games, including Grand Theft Auto Online, will be unavailable.

Rockstargames.com and rockstargames.com/support will remain up but login will be down periodically. Please stay tuned to this page, which will be updated when the maintenance is finished. Apologies in advance for any inconvenience.

You can also keep track of the GTA Online Server Status page for further updates.

A few people were speculating that this maintenance was in preparation for a new Grand Theft Auto V update. According to the Rockstar Support Twitter account though, “This is routine maintenance to improve overall online performance and is not related to new content.”
