Blizzard on Hearthstone Possibly Coming to Consoles: “If We Did It, We’d Want to Take Our Time to Do It Right”

Back in April 2014, Blizzard said they weren’t looking at bringing Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft to consoles. More than a year later, it’s something they’re thinking about, but if it were to happen, the developers want to take their time and get it right.

Speaking with GameSpot, Executive Producer Hamilton Chu said they’ve received “a lot” of requests for Hearthstone on consoles, before adding:

We’re console players too. So definitely, we love to get Hearthstone out to more players and letting them play however they want. You want to play on the couch in front of a big TV, and I totally get that. It’s definitely something we think about.

I mean, it’s a lot of hard work. To make Hearthstone feel as good on phone as it did on PC and tablet took a while. So for us, it would be no less important to nail the experience on console than any other platform. So if we did it, we’d want to take our time to do it right.

Elsewhere in the interview, Chu said, “We want Hearthstone to be around for 10 to 20 years. That’s what Blizzard does.”

If you’re looking for card games on PlayStation 4, Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist came out recently and Magic Duels: Origins is set for launch later this year.
