Rise of the Tomb Raider’s Combat System Revolves Around Player Choice
At gamescom 2015, Crystal Dynamics shared some gameplay from Rise of the Tomb Raider “Advancing Storm,” which showed Lara going head-on against the enemy. Following the demonstration, a lot of fans asked the developer if it was possible to play with less enemy engagement. In response to that, Crystal Dynamics has released the video above, showing off stealth playthrough of the same section, stating that the combat system enables players to choose how to play. The developer wrote:
Some fans asked whether it was possible to play “Advancing Storm” with less enemy engagement. Rise of the Tomb Raider’s expanded combat system centers on player choice, and provides Lara with even more skills, for a spectrum of strategies ranging from stealth to aggression. This alternate playthrough demonstrates a completely non-lethal approach.
Rise of the Tomb Raider will be out this year for the Xbox One, and during holiday 2016 for the PlayStation 4.
