Mad Max Resolution to be 1080p on PS4, Boasts No Limit to Game World’s Size

Avalanche Software’s Mad Max will be launching September 1, bringing with it, full HD 1080p visuals.

In an interview with GamingBolt, Senior Producer John Fuller confirmed the game’s resolution on next-gen platforms, and also provided information on map size. When asked how long it would take to get from one side of the world to the other, Fuller responded with:

There are no finite limits to the map… in other words, there is no ‘one side’. You can continue driving into The Big Nothing until you get bored or killed.

Our tech can support enormous worlds but it is always a case of balancing the density of content and travel distances so that the player feels they are in a rich world.

It’s clear that Avalanche is looking to impress with visual fidelity and a large world. Here’s hoping the frame-rate, which we can assume is limited to 30fps, holds up under the pressure.
