Grow Home Is Ubisoft’s Fastest-Downloaded PlayStation Game Ever

Released as a PlayStation Plus free game on September 1 for PlayStation 4 after winning the first Vote to Play, Grow Home is now Ubisoft’s fastest-downloaded Ubisoft game on PlayStation in history, achieving over 1.5 million downloads worldwide in its first week.

Producer Pete Young talked about the milestone:

We are thrilled that BUD has found a new home in the PS4 community. Grow Home was a great opportunity for our team to experiment and develop new technology and have fun at the same time.

If you’ve yet to download Grow Home, here’s what you need to know:

In Grow Home, players are free to explore a strange open world full of floating islands, majestic caves and waterfalls set in a beautiful and minimalist art style. Players take on the role of BUD (Botanical Utility Droid), an excitable child-like robot sent on a mission to search the galaxy for a new species of plant that can save his homeworld.

Grow Home will remain a part of the PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection until October 5, where it (and all the other games) will be replaced by a slate of new titles, which may include Super Meat Boy.

We don’t know when the next Vote to Play is set to begin, but Sony has said it will “take place at regular intervals throughout the year.”

Have you played Grow Home yet? What do you think of it?
