To celebrate the PlayStation 1’s 20th anniversary in North America last week, the PlayStation Blog ran a fan-voted poll to determine the best PS1 game of all time.

With the results in, Sony revealed that Metal Gear Solid was 1st, followed by Final Fantasy VII and Crash Bandicoot in 2nd (Gold) and 3rd (Silver), respectively, with Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped in 4th (Bronze).

Sony didn’t offer up any further details on how many votes were cast, so we don’t know if Metal Gear Solid won by a large margin, or if it was a close race.

If you want to play any of the winners, MGS and FFVII are available on the PlayStation Store as PS1 Classics for $9.99 each, with Crash Bandicoot and Crash Bandicoot 3 priced at $5.99 each.

Which game(s) did you vote for as the best PS1 game of all time? Do you agree with Metal Gear Solid’s victory?
