Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on PS3 & Xbox 360 Doesn’t Include Campaign, Just Multiplayer & Zombies

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 a “truly next-generation experience designed from day one to harness the full potential of the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC,” Activision has announced that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions won’t feature a campaign.

The last-gen versions developed by Beenox and Mercenary Technology, Activision says they have been “working tirelessly to bring as much of the Black Ops 3 gameplay as possible to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360,” but limitations led to the removal of Campaign:

The Black Ops 3 PS3 and Xbox 360 versions will feature Multiplayer and Zombies gameplay only, not Campaign. The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.

Additionally, features like the new Weapon Paint Shop and eSports tools will only be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

For the Multiplayer portion on PS3/360, it will include the new momentum-based, chain-movement system, as well as the all-new Specialist class of 9 Black Ops soldiers. Zombies, meanwhile, will include the new Shadows of Evil mode, which features a 1940’s film-noir inspired adventure.

As a result of all this, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Black Ops 3 will be available for $49.99 and include a download of the original Call of Duty: Black Ops.

You’ll be able to pick up Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on Friday, November 6.
