Sony Aware of PSN Down Reports, Is Investigating (Update)

Update 2 (10:25am PT):

The PSN Status Page now says everything is back up and running normally.

Update:

At 9:30am PT, Ask PlayStation said, “Engineers are currently looking into issues with PSN connectivity; thank you for your patience.”

According to the PSN Status Page, the PlayStation Store is experiencing issues on PS4 and PS3:

PlayStation Store (PS4, PS3)

We are currently under maintenance and you may be experiencing issues. We appreciate your patience.

Original Story:

While Ask PlayStation and the official PlayStation Network have yet to update regarding issues with the PSN right now, numerous reports from gamers on Twitter and other social media have popped up, prompting PlayStation Europe’s Chris Owen to confirm the problems:

First reports began popping up around 8am PT/11am ET and seem to still be continuing, with Bungie Help also saying, “We are aware of players on PlayStation 4 who are encountering BUFFALO errors and we are currently investigating. Standby for updates.”

Update (9:10am PT): Bungie Help just tweeted, “The issue causing players on PlayStation 4 to encounter BUFFALO errors [in Destiny] is subsiding. Thank you for your patience!”

As always, we’ll let you know if Sony says anything about the PSN being down. If it’s anything like the previous PSN downtimes recently though, expect it to be over fairly quickly.

Have you been able to sign in to the PSN today?
