Destiny Update Today Is a Hotfix, Will Require You to Log in Again After Installation

Update:

The Destiny update today is a hotfix (2.0.0.5) and it fixes some issues introduced with last week’s hotfix.

Here’s the full list of details on the new hotfix:

Classes

  • Fixed an issue where Titan Sunbreakers could rapidly spam the Hammer of Sol attack

World

  • Fixed an issue where players were occasionally not getting loot when opening chests

Strikes

  • Fixed an issue where players were not earning their rightfully-owed equipment from Valus Ta’aurc

Original Story:

Pushed live today at 10am PT/1pm ET, the new Destiny update on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 shouldn’t kick you from activities.

As Bungie writes on their website, “Pardon our dust! We are pushing a patch live today. Players will be required to log in to Destiny again after returning to the title screen to install the patch. You should not be removed from any activities you are currently in.”

We’re still waiting for Bungie to give out official details on today’s update (stay tuned!), but Community Manager DeeJ suggested it will fix issues with chests:

If you’re playing Destiny on PS4 and haven’t booted up your system today, remember that firmware update 3.00 is now available, adding a host of features and requiring a 250MB download.

Looking at the Destiny events calendar, Mayhem Clash went live yesterday, with Inferno Clash arriving on October 6.
