Delving into the story of Minecraft: Story Mode, today’s new trailer from Telltale Games helps prepare you for Episode 1: The Order of the Stone, which is launching digitally on October 13 and at retail on October 27.

The first of five episodes this season, The Order of the Stone was detailed by Telltale:

In Minecraft: Story Mode, playing as either a male or female hero named ‘Jesse,’ you’ll embark on a perilous adventure across the Overworld, through the Nether, to the End, and beyond. You and your friends revere the legendary Order of the Stone: Warrior, Redstone Engineer, Griefer, and Architect; slayers of the Ender Dragon. While at EnderCon in hopes of meeting Gabriel the Warrior, Jesse’s friends discover that something is wrong… something dreadful. Terror is unleashed, and you must set out on a quest to find The Order of the Stone if you are to save your world from oblivion.

In addition to Patton Oswalt (male Jesse), Catherine Taber (female Jesse), Brian Posehn, Ashley Johnson, Scott Porter, Martha Plimpton, Billy West, and Paul Reubens, Minecraft: Story Mode’s cast also includes Dave Fennoy as Gabriel the Warrior, Corey Feldman as Magnus the Griefer, Grey Griffin as Ellegaard the Redstone Engineer, and John Hodgman as Soren the Architect.

If you happen to be in Hollywood, CA on October 12, Telltale and Mojang are holding a special world premiere launch event at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome. Calling it the World’s Largest Let’s Play, with the audience directing the action, tickets will be free and you can learn more by emailing minecraftpremiere[at]telltalegames[dot]com.

You’ll be able to play Minecraft: Story Mode on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC/Mac, and iOS/Android this month, with PlayStation Vita and Wii U versions coming in the future.

October is set to be a big month for Telltale games, with Minecraft: Story Mode debuting, Back to the Future getting re-released on PS4, the finales of Game of Thrones and Tales From the Borderlands expected, and the potential start of The Walking Dead: Michonne.
