If you’ve played the Walker Assault mode in the recently concluded — and super successfulStar Wars Battlefront beta, then you might have noticed how the mode requires teamwork to win. While that’s a given for objective-based multiplayer games, don’t expect to speak to teammates via voice chat.

EA has confirmed that in Star Wars Battlefront, players will need to use the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One’s built-in party system for in-game comms.

The PC is in the same boat, as EA recommends players use their fave third-party software to talk to friends on PC.

Granted, players can just use their console’s party system to chat with teammates, but what about in random matchmaking, then? Will this affect the game at all or not as much as people would like to think? Personally, I almost always don’t use my mic when playing unless I’m gaming with people I know; but that’s just me. It wouldn’t hurt to have it included, and is a weird design choice by DICE.
