Report: GameStop Taking Pre-Orders for Overwatch on PS4 & Xbox One

With the in-game beta code including hints of a console release, and Blizzard themselves saying “that sounds awesome” when asked about it last year, evidence has continued to mount for a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release of Overwatch. Now, it seems to be all but confirmed.

Today, after receiving a tip from a now-deleted tweet, Kotaku reached out to a GameStop store in New York, who confirmed that they are currently taking pre-orders for Overwatch on PS4 and Xbox One, priced at $59.99. Further investigation from IGN reveals that the console version is called Overwatch: Origins Edition.

A team-based shooter where heroes do battle in a world of conflict, Overwatch is currently only confirmed for PC (a closed beta began last week), but the console versions will likely be officially announced tomorrow during BlizzCon 2015, so stay tuned for full details.

Would you play Overwatch if it came to PS4 or Xbox One?
