Canadian Videogame Awards 2015 Winners Revealed, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Is Game of the Year

Held on Sunday, the Canadian Videogame Awards 2015 crowned Assassin’s Creed Syndicate as Game of the Year, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt winning the fans’ choice for Best International Game.

With winners chosen by “a body of industry experts from across the country,” and the general public voting on the Best Canadian-Made Game and Best International Game, here’s the 2015 Canadian Videogame Awards winners:

  • Best Console Game – Dragon Age: Inquisition (BioWare)
  • Best Downloadable – Invisible, Inc. (Klei Entertainment)
  • Best Game on the Go – Skylanders SuperChargers Racing (Beenox)
  • Best iOS Game – Lara Croft GO (Square Enix Montreal)
  • Best Social/Casual Game – I Love Potatoes (A Vali Fugulin game /Minority and Ruben Farrus)
  • Best Animation – Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Ubisoft Quebec)
  • Best Audio – Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Ubisoft Quebec)
  • Best Game Design – Far Cry 4 (Ubisoft Montreal)
  • Best Game Innovation – Pulse (Pixel Pi Games)
  • Best Indie Game – Invisible, Inc. (Klei Entertainment)
  • Best New Character – The Twins, Jacob and Evie Frye, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Ubisoft Quebec)
  • Best Original Music – D.R Style (Vinyl), Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition (Klei Entertainment)
  • Best Technology – Hitman: Sniper (Square Enix Montreal)
  • Best Visual Arts – Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Ubisoft Quebec)
  • Best Writing – Dragon Age: Inquisition (BioWare)
  • Game of the Year – Assassin’s Creed Syndicate (Ubisoft Quebec)
  • Fans’ Choice – Best Canadian-Made Game: N++ (Metanet Software Inc.) 
  • Fans’ Choice – Best International Game: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (CD Projekt RED)

In the Game of the Year category, Syndicate was up against Alto’s Adventure, Apotheon, Bruce Lee: Enter the Game, Cryptark, Far Cry 4, Invisible Inc, Lara Croft GO, Super Mega Baseball, and Runbow.
