Final Fantasy XV Summer 2016 Release Potentially Considered by Square Enix, Next Active Time Report in January

In a questionnaire on the Final Fantasy XV website, Square Enix may have hinted at a potential summer 2016 release window for the upcoming title.

One of the questions, #47, asks, ‘If Persona 5 and Final Fantasy XV came out at the same time, which would you prefer?’ Since Persona 5 is currently scheduled for a summer 2016 release, it seems Square Enix is trying to determine whether or not they want to go up against another big 2016 RPG.

As we learned earlier this month, Final Fantasy XV is playable from start to finish internally.

We’ll know the official release date of FFXV at a special event in March, but before that, Square Enix will be hosting another Active Time Report at the end of January.

A fully subtitled program from Director Hajime Tabata that focuses on delivering FFXV development updates, here’s what to expect from the January Active Time Report:

In the next ATR we’ll be focusing on the Niflheim Empire – the enemies of Final Fantasy XV. We plan on showing the latest battle footage including some scenes of magic. We’ll also be sharing further information about the special Final Fantasy XV event which will be taking place in March 2016.

Exact timing details of the event will arrive closer to the show, which you can watch through the Square Enix Presents channel.
