In case you didn’t know, Resident Evil will celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2016. Let that sink in! Resident Evil is old enough to drink, drive and get a job in almost every part of the world!
To commemorate this event, and maybe as a precursor to a Resident Evil 7 announcement — or just a good marketing move in preparation for Resident Evil 0 — Capcom has released two Resident Evil history videos that catches you up to speed on the franchise’s story, what the franchise is about, and more.
Resident Evil History Part 1:
Start off with Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield as they investigate the disappearance of S.T.A.R.S. Bravo team from Raccoon City police department. Then find out what happens to Raccoon City after the zombie outbreak two months after Mansion Incident and get introduced to Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, Chris’s sister.
Resident Evil History Part 2:
Part two beings with Resident Evil 3: Nemesis where Jill Valentine tries to expose Umbrella’s conspiracy in Raccoon City the same time Leon and Claire from Resident Evil 2 are dealing with the zombie outbreak. Work your way up to Resident Evil 6 where we meet many returning characters during incidents after Resident Evil 5.
In case you want to jump in to the franchise, Resident Evil 0 will be out this January 19, 2016 for the the PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. Capcom also mentions that we should “keep an eye out for more 20th Anniversary coverage in 2016!”
