Paragon to Allow Mouse & Keyboard on PS4, Check Out the Gameplay Tutorial

Announced at this year’s PlayStation Experience, Epic Games’ Paragon is a new MOBA game that’s set to have an open beta in the summer of 2016.

With the game being a MOBA, some people might have been wondering — and/or wishing — that a more traditional mouse and keyboard control scheme would work, and yep, it will.

Posting on gaming forum NeoGAF, Epic Games PR Manager Nick Chester confirmed that the game is planned to support KB+M on the PlayStation 4. However, Chester says that using KB+M doesn’t appear to give the user any advantage, and that its top player on PC even uses a controller.

We plan to support keyboard and mouse on PS4.

That said, we have players on both platforms playing against one another, and there doesn’t appear to be any significant advantage to using either input device. Our top player plays on PC but uses a controller. 🙂

It’s also been confirmed during Epic’s Twitch stream for Paragon that it will run at 60 frames-per-second, which should help given its a third-person shooter/MOBA hybrid of sorts.

That’s something that would be so cool to have, we would love to have that not just for Paragon but, you know, for the engine in general. It’s not on the plan right now, we’re focusing on 60FPS on console so that takes a lot of effort.

Finally, the official intro and tutorial for alpha testers has been released by Epic, and it gives us more Paragon PS4 gameplay to check out. It’s the video embedded above.

Will you be using keyboard and mouse for Paragon? What do you make of the game so far?
