With 2016 just a few days away, 4Gamer sat down with a number of Japanese game creators to learn about their plans for next year.

One of the people interviewed was Akihiro Hino, President of Level-5, who teased that they’ll announce a sequel to a popular series:

Level-5 is always thinking of and proposing new things to the world. I can’t let out the details yet, but in 2016 too we have all new ideas and various new titles to announce. Among them, there is also a sequel to a very popular series.

Since they just announced Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom at PlayStation Experience, their big announcement next year will likely have to do with the Yo-Kai Watch series, or another 3DS franchise. However, there is a chance one of those other new titles could be from a PlayStation series, such as White Knight Chronicles or Dark Cloud.

Also in the 4Gamer feature, Capcom Producer Masachika Kawata said, “First we’ll release Umbrella Corps for the shooter fans, but other than that, I think this year we may be able to make a number of interesting announcements. Please look forward to them.”
