PlayStation Developers Choose Their Most Anticipated 2016 Game, There’s No Runaway Favorite

With 2016 just one day away, the PlayStation Blog caught up with various PlayStation developers to learn their most anticipated game of 2016. After tallying the choices from all 22 participants, it ended up as a four-way tie between Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, No Man’s Sky, The Last Guardian, and The Witness.

Aki Raula, Lead Designer on Matterfall at Housemarque, talked about why they chose Uncharted 4:

One more romp from Naughty Dog in the adventure lands with Nathan Drake. Just a one of a kind experience and now I can’t wait to get sucked in again with Uncharted 4.

Shahid Ahmad, former PlayStation UK Strategic Content Boss and now a game developer, picked No Man’s Sky:

The title I’m most looking forward to in 2016 is No Man’s Sky. How could it be anything else? It’s the game I’ve been looking forward to all my life.

After naming Gravity Rush Remastered and Gravity Rush 2, Heavy Spectrum (Shadow of the Beast) Founder Matt Birch revealed why he chose The Last Guardian:

On the other hand, when I saw The Last Guardians re-appearance at E3 I was literally whooping with joy. I’ve had the title on pre-order since its original announcement, so seeing it return was such an exciting moment. I never lost faith!

Pekka Kujansuu, Gameplay Programmer on Alienation at Housemarque, decided on The Witness:

I’m intrigued by The Witness. It sounds like there’s something beneath the surface. If there isn’t, I still like puzzle games and I expect The Witness to be a good one. Oh, and of course Dark Souls III also.

Meanwhile, SCE London Studio Executive Producer Brynley Gibson, who is working on PlayStation VR, said they are most looking forward to the new piece of hardware:

I may be developing for it but I want one at home. 2016 is the year of VR. It’s the start of a journey that is going to change the landscape of gaming forever. There are already a great selection of titles announced and I can’t wait to play all these new experiences.

If you haven’t done so yet, today is the last day you can vote on the best PlayStation games of 2015, as well as your most anticipated game of 2016.

What’s the one game you can’t wait to play next year?
