Free-To-Play MMO World of Tanks Rolls Onto PS4 Today

Wargaming has officially welcomed popular MMO World of Tanks onto PlayStation 4, after announcing via PlayStation Blog that the game is available to download from today. No PlayStation Plus subscription is required to hop into the action.

Revolving around sprawling tank warfare between Germany, the USSR and the United States, Wargaming’s free-to-play giant features over 130 different vehicles to unlock and customize using Silver, the in-game currency.

For those who wish to invest in their armaments, World of Tanks also includes a store, lending players the chance to purchase Silver in exchange for real money, while Wargaming has also teased special tanks that will only be available for a limited time through said store. Trophy support is also included, and completionists will be pleased to note that the PS4 version does boast a Platinum trophy.

World of Tanks is available via PlayStation Store from today, January 19. Our own Chandler Wood recently visited Wargaming Chicago to learn more about the game’s path to PlayStation 4. There’s also a hands-on impression of an early build from PSX 2015 for those more interested in the actual gameplay.
